Southwest Topeka Bible Church is an independent Bible church with an earnest desire for reaching our locale and the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The church was started by Topeka Bible Church in 1984. The founding fathers of the Topeka Bible Church had a vision to start a new church in another part of Topeka. In January 1983, led by the Lord, the Elder Board formulated a plan to start a new church. In February, 1983, the plan was presented to the congregation at the annual church business meeting and was unanimously approved. On March 1, 1983, each family was asked from the pulpit to prayerfully consider becoming a part of the new church.

The church was sent out under the direction of Pastor Chet Evans.

By June, a handful of families became involved in mid-week meetings. The original group consisted of 50 people who had stepped forward to be a part of the new church. By December, the group had grown to approximately sixty.

On February 19, 1984, in a special service, the group was dedicated to the work and sent out. The vision became a reality when on February 26, 1984, the new church held its first Sunday morning service as Southwest Topeka Bible Church in the basement of a dental building.

Since 1984, services were not only conducted in the dental building, but two real estate offices, a school, a church, and office front property. Land was originally purchased at 36th and Gage but eventually exchanged with land at 53rd and Gage. Ground was broken on in the fall of 1990. The church building was then completed in June of 1996.

We have always been and remain free of debt.

We are pleased to give God the glory for all He has done in and through us!
